I finally taught myself how to do a fishtail braid. I'll tell you right now - definitely going to be my go-to summer hairstyle. We're heading to Nashville/Michigan/Chicago for the next two weeks, & I'm pretty sure it will be a rare occasion to see my trademark wavy locks hanging down. Humidity = braids & updos!

This engagement session from Once Wed is the most gorgeous thing. The sprinklers came on during the shoot - I think that made these some of my favorite engagement shots ever. I love when accidents are happy accidents!

the most dreaded part of summer

Bathing suit shopping.

I'm not even going to complain. I am female, therefore I hate how I look when trying on swim suits. Simple.

I have been blessed cursed in the boob department - I have 'em. Ever notice how really cute suits are designed for petite little A cups? I'm not a fan of bulky halter tops, but I'm also not a fan of tucking my girls into a tiny triangle top that's going to slip a nip the moment I jump in the water. I decided to go in between & just get a top that has a little more structure this year. A few in the running...

I love love love that black & white print, but I think my lower regions might look silly in the bottoms. Super cute though.  Both via Topshop

And the required Victoria's Secret suit...definitely more boob-friendly, but kind of boring.

Even though I prefer a string bottom (less chance of muffin top), I'm thinking of mixing that white top with these bottoms, from Asos.

I try to stay away from Anthropologie normally. Not for distaste of the store, by any means. I would literally wear every piece of clothing they carry, & if I could furnish my home (& the homes of my friends & family) with all their decor, I WOULD. So basically, I would live in an Anthropologie store if they would let me. Unfortunately, my funds don't allow me to purchase $40 printed bowls & $200 dresses at the moment. Still, the creativity that radiates from that store just always seems to draw me in if I'm anywhere near. I noticed they have open interviews on Tuesdays for Visual Interns...um, hello dream job? (at least one of them...)

For Earth Day, Anthropologies nationwide gathered corks for their visual displays. I collect corks too...but they sit in a giant glass on a shelf. Lame. Nothing like this:

I have been feeling the pangs of  my ever-present wanderlust more strongly lately. Central/South America again? Africa? Australia? Doesn't really matter where, I just need to go.

This Gisele spread for Vogue Paris definitely makes me want to pack an old rucksack & head out...wherever the winds may take me & my beachy hair.
